How it works
The subscriber's lifecycle begins with the purchase of a phone and
airtime through any number of channels, including direct retail LFIs,
agents, and the web.
Order entry, service activation, and payment processing are all
handled through a web-enabled point of sale (POS) system that is an
integrated component of AEGIS/SECURE.
Once the subscriber incurs usage, real-time or near real-time event
records are generated by the network. These events may be voice
calls, short or text messages, ring tones, songs, games or other
content.
AEGIS/SECURE receives these usage records, modifies them into a
standard format and extracts the relevant information required for
debiting a subscriber's account according to the rate plans that are
in effect.
The mobile service provider may design rate plans that encompass
simultaneous combinations of measured and unlimited service across
any type of service or event mode, such as:
