For VideoDirect Ad Insertion and Local Origination
TI’s VideoDirect systems use scalable, high-performance Dell Intel
Pentium servers, optimized for the demanding requirements of true
interactive video-on-demand applications. Each server provides from
four to sixteen channels of simultaneous video playback, with
program storage capacity tailored to your requirements. Additional
channel capacity can be provided by adding servers and accessories.
Each video server is a complete computer system including CPU,
system memory, Raid 5 hard drive storage for video content that
protects against hard drive failure, tape drive for backup and
transfer of program content, high-end decoder boards with NTSC
baseband outputs, and redundant power-supplies. The system is
available in a rack mount or mini-tower configuration. With the ETI
video server, video information is delivered instantly and reliably
to any of the available video channels. Any video program stored on
the server can be played to any number of channels at the same time.
