Hauppauge, NY -- Satellite communications solution provider
Globecomm Systems launched a state-of-the-art broadcast operations
center for Showtime Networks. The company's new 6,000 square-foot,
custom master and control facility is located at Globecomm's Long
Island international teleport and supports the transmission of 25
standard-definition, three HD and one analog channel to satellites
servicing the United States. |

Showtime's broadcast
center is now in service, with Globecomm providing all technical
operations supporting the network's content origination,
transmission and monitoring for its nationwide delivery of content.
"We chose Globecomm to design and build our next-generation
broadcast facility because of their extensive broadcast engineering
experience," said Tim DeLaney, SVP of video operations for Showtime.
"The Globecomm engineering and support teams, in conjunction with
Showtime Networks Engineering, were instrumental in designing a
robust and secure network allowing us to launch on time with minimal
transition time and without issue."
The exec said Globecomm has become a proven partner of the
CBS/Showtime family and the company looks forward to a lasting
partnership.
