Partnership extended to new technology and regions following joint success in Russia

London, UK -- Netris, a Russian leader in IP-communications software development and system integration, and Amino (www.aminocom.com), the world leading IPTV platform supplier, have agreed to leverage their existing relationship by forming a strategic partnership to extend joint activities in growing IPTV markets world-wide, and to tighten technology integration.

Both companies have a solid track record in the Russian IPTV market, where a combination of Netris’ IPSoft iVision IPTV Middleware and Amino’s multi-award winning IPTV set-top boxes (STBs) is used in the vast majority of IPTV commercial deployments. From a technology point of view, the companies have been integrating their solutions closely to deliver cost-effective, best of breed IPTV systems for the growing Russian market. IPSoft iVision works smoothly with a number of Amino STBs:

AmiNET103: Amino’s first ultra-compact set-top box, winner of a Red Dot Award for innovative set-top box design.

AmiNET110: Amino’s popular MPEG-2 STB and first product compatible with a number of connected home adapters, reducing the costs for operators in deploying IPTV.

AmiNET125: a 2nd generation multi-codec IPTV STB designed to introduce IPTV to new users in the developing world and to second and subsequent TVs in North American and European homes. These TVs are typically standard definition, so benefit from a flexible yet cost-optimised platform with MPEG-2 & MPEG-4 video formats. The AmiNET125 has been short listed for the IPTV World Series Awards in London (ceremony to be held on 6th March 2007).

AmiNET130: Amino’s advanced STB supporting High Definition, H.264 (MPEG4/AVC) video streams, modeled on the same award-winning design as previous AmiNET generations.

"Our joint success in Russia was only possible because we cooperated to integrate our products and create proven, scalable and flexible solutions tailored to Russian customers", highlighted Roy Kirsopp, VP & General Manager at Amino. "We would like to extend this success across new territories and technology developments".

“We’ve got a unique expertise integrating with various STBs from Amino and several embedded browsers”, Mikhail Grachev, Netris CEO, said. “In particular, our newest IPSoft iVision version with advanced customizable interface incorporates all benefits from latest MPEG-4 SD AmiNET125 and MPEG-2/4 HD AmiNET130 STBs to deliver fast and comfortable access to a full range of IPTV services for subscribers”.

IPSoft iVision IPTV Middleware is a carrier-class service delivery platform to enable interactive video (IPTV, VoD, PVR, etc.), communication (voice, video, instant messaging, etc.), and interactive multimedia services (games, ads, etc.) for IPTV fixed and mobile networks. This efficient, reliable and flexible platform is built with the use of open standards and can be easily integrated with any VoD servers, CAS/DRM, OSS/BSS systems or IP STBs. The latest version of the platform is designed to provide a core service functionality of IPTV solution, i.e. access to all IPTV services, subscriber portal generation, service management and basic accounting, IPTV solution components interoperability as well as many additional interactive services like ReplayTV, mosaic channel view, IM, TV commerce applications, HD portal templates and many others.
Companies are going to push integrated solutions to the European market with a focus on HDTV capabilities over IPTV networks and other services such as local PVR functionality.
