3G Streaming Software

Datmedia announce launch of new 3GPP streaming software: datpresenter™ MOBILE

Other Topics: IBC TV News, IPTV 2010

Datmedia
August 29, 2006

Datmedia (www.datmedia.com) – a world leading developer of IPTV and online presentation technology – launch datpresenter™ MOBILE ─ at Stand 1.154, IBC 2006, 8th-12th September 2006 (www.ibc.org). This new product, part of the new datpresenter™ DPX V2.0 software range, allows users to stream video content in 3GPP and MPEG4 formats to 3G cell phones, as well as via the internet.

The software is fully W3C compliant and supports: WAP 2.0, XHTML, XHTML MP, HTML 4.01, CSS, ECMAScript and JavaScript. datpresenter™ MOBILE simplifies streaming Real, Windows and 3GP to mobile. Upload any format of mobile content, activate the ‘send to mobile’ tool in the administrator view and datpresenter™ MOBILE will send a SMS text message with a hyperlink which auto-starts your streaming video.

All the viewer needs is a multi-media phone with a Real, Windows or 3GP media player, and a GPRS data connection for browsing the internet. With the mobile networks recently rolling out reduced rate data calls (from £7.50 per month) there has never been a better time to watch video on a mobile phone.

Features include fully synchronised and scheduled web media streamed to mobile via any IP network, the new Opera 2.0 browser or 3GPP; giving content owners a viable, cost-effective distribution option.

datpresenter™ MOBILE (currently being used on the IBC TV News web site www.ibctvnews.com) is part of the browser-based, install-free rich media datpresenter™ player for WEB 2.0 ─ one of the most technically advanced online rich media players on the market.

Stephen Clee, Managing Director of Datmedia, said: “The 3GPP mobile software we have developed makes it possible for anyone to broadcast IPTV programmes direct to mobile. Our unique datpresenter™ products are the ultimate tools for reliably and cost-effectively harnessing next-generation IPTV triple play mobile services using existing technology and networks.”
