Mr. Borland joins
Latens as a member of the senior management team and has
responsibility for all of Latens Global systems engineering, product
management, technical and professional services that support the
sales and delivery to customers worldwide. Mr. Borland will also use
his extensive business and technical experience to support Latens
Business development activities. Mr. Borland will report to Andy
Mathieson, Director, Latens.
“I’m delighted to welcome Alex Borland aboard, he’s a great recruit
for us, bringing invaluable experience of both the Conditional
Access market and Pay-TV in general,” says, Andy Mathieson,
Director, Latens. “Alex has a vision of where the CA market’s going
that‘s in line with ours and I look forward to working with him to
win contracts with established Pay-TV operators as they increasingly
understand the huge advantages in cost and functionality that they
can realise through our next generation approach to protecting their
revenues.”
Prior to joining Nagravision, Alex Borland was at TANDBERG
Television working in Business Development where he was responsible
for developing the professional services arm of the business,
helping to secure large cable and satellite clients in Europe and
Asia. Previous experience includes working for multiple cable and
satellite operators, most recently UPC, where he was part of the
team responsible for the European roll-out of Digital TV.
“Latens has quickly become the clear European leader in content &
revenue security for IPTV and is fast becoming a leader in the USA
as well. I look forward to helping the company to be equally
successful in other parts of the globe and particularly in Pay-TV
markets, where the business benefits provided by Latens’ technical
advantages give it such excellent growth opportunities,” says Alex
Borland, Head of Technical Services, Latens.
“Cable, satellite and terrestrial operators are presently
re-examining their content and revenue protection strategy due to
the pioneering work of companies like Latens. They have to ensure
that every single part of their technology infrastructure is
optimised for the impending fight with their new Telco and IPTV
rivals. I believe that these operators will increasingly choose
Latens’ cost-effective next generation software CA over hardware
based security solutions and I’ve joined Latens to be able to play a
part in this success,” concluded Borland.
