Las Vegas, NV -- NAB2006 Triveni Digital Booth #SU1999 Vistacast and
Triveni Digital are collaborating to use data broadcasting
technologies for a video training application. The application
addresses the challenge faced by the distance learning industry of
how to reach learners on-the-go with rich multimedia digital
content. Vistacast's vLearning™ software product, in combination
with Triveni Digital's SkyScraperTM content distribution system, and
various software components including the SkyScraper Library Builder
content publishing system, enables the deployment of video training
and corporate communication systems to learners untethered to the
Internet.
Triveni Digital will market Vistacast's vLearning application as
part of the SkyScraper EDU turnkey solution. A technology
demonstration is being held in Triveni Digital's booth #SU1999 at
the National Association of Broadcasters Convention from April
24-27, 2006. |

"In response to the strong distance learning trend to extend the
reach to students on-the-go with video content, Vistacast is
committed to support the distance learning industry with products
and services that will enable content providers to reach their
learners anywhere, anytime and with any digital content." said Jose
J. Carrasquillo, president & CEO of Vistacast. "This collaboration
between Vistacast and Triveni Digital will facilitate enterprise and
education content providers to easily deliver informative rich
multimedia content and assessment materials to their learners,
retain current learning management systems infrastructure and
maintain investment in SCORM standard materials. Vistacast's
vLearning software solution ensures security of content and provides
the best end user management. vLearning gives great convenience to
the learner since it will play the content in several platforms
including iPods."
"As colleges and universities move toward a greater multimedia and
blended media learning experience for their students, there is a
greater need to transport and manage compelling content beyond
traditional text-based systems." said Dr. Jacques Dubois from
Brevard Community College. "Under the concept of a "Virtual Campus,"
students and faculty must utilize existing Learning Management
Systems (LMS) and web-based services that range all the way from
dial-up to high-speed broadband. While these systems will continue
to serve the greater learning community, things are changing. Video
based content is now a necessity, not a luxury; students want to
consume content "anywhere, anytime"; and faculty and administrators
look for greater reach meaning serving more students with more
material. vLearning and Triveni Digital solutions meet these needs."
"Our collaboration with Vistacast squarely addresses the key flaw in
most of today's distance learning systems either the content cannot
be delivered conveniently and quickly, or the content is of poor
quality due to bandwidth restrictions.," said Mark Simpson,
president and CEO of Triveni Digital. "By combining our content
distribution technologies with Vistacast's powerful vLearning
software within the SkyScraper EDU product suite, we can
significantly enhance the distance learning experience. This is an
example of Triveni Digital's recently redoubled emphasis on
collaboration with premiere application partners to extend our
content distribution solutions in key market segments."
While the system works equally well over satellite or "terrestrial
datacasting", also known as "data broadcasting", it is a transport
technology utilizing available bandwidth from the digital TV (DTV)
spectrum from the local broadcaster and can reach students with a
digital over-the-air signal within a 50-75 mile radius of the TV
tower. Triveni Digital's system is a proven means of content
distribution that provides both high bandwidth file transfer as well
as streaming media. A key advantage of datacasting is the concept of
"one to many" enabling all receiver sites to obtain the data at the
same time, and at the same cost. By combining Triveni Digital's
SkyScraper datacasting platform with Vistacast's specialized
vLearning software package for distributed learning, enterprises and
colleges can meet students' learning needs for high quality video,
"anywhere, anytime," and all within reach of their local
administrator.
About vLearning
Vistacast's vLearning enhances learning performance with effective
blended multimedia content delivery and management. The integrated
software solution empowers content providers to offer any type of
digital content to reach the learners anywhere they are located,
while enhancing the learning experience.
vLearning is focused on managing and providing a training experience
that includes full multimedia, video, audio, text, and rich
simulation at lower cost than current solutions. The system is
designed to have a software module that runs on the administration
server interfacing to the Learning Management System (LMS) and
another that runs on the student device. The learner is able to
receive synchronous or asynchronous training. It keeps track of
student learning behavior, and later reports to the administrator
upon connection to the LMS.
