Belfast, Northern Ireland -- Latens Systems, the leading provider of IPTV Conditional Access, today announced that CP-Tel has purchased Latens FCAS Conditional Access solution working with Amino, leading IPTV set-top box supplier, to secure IPTV services delivered to the AmiNET Series of set-top boxes. CP-Tel now can offer its subscribers secured video services that include Pay-TV, personal-video-recording (PVR), video-on-demand (VOD), and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) as MPEG2 streams.

"We have to do everything in our power to ensure we don't suffer piracy, which would put both our revenues and our programming licenses at risk. We selected Latens security solutions because we were impressed with the FCAS pre-emptive approach to content protection and its true renewable security," said Philip Fernbaugh, Network Operations Manager, CP-Tel.

"It also helped our decision that Latens close relationship with Amino makes it easier for us to meet our aggressive roll out schedule and that the flexibility of Latens CA widens our future technology choices," concluded Fernbaugh.

"We consider Latens one of our closest CAS partners and will continue to work together so that on-going coordination of product releases benefits our joint customers." said Roy Kirsopp, VP & GM at Amino. "In addition, the integration of Latens FCAS with the Amino set-top boxes and PVR's, widens the choice for all IPTV operators to offer advanced services in order to better compete in the market place."

"The FCAS approach to security is unique in many ways, with pre-emption of piracy a particular advantage over other CA solutions. Latens FCAS also has the flexibility to operate in both centralized and distributed architectures, offering our customers highly resilient security for both retail and wholesale business models," said Dean Kashlan, GM and VP, Americas, Latens.
