The StreamCore range
of products is designed to help broadcasters and network operators
deploying IP video distribution to reduce set-up and running costs
at the same time as increasing flexibility of operation. The
competitive benefits of the SC2000 include:
- Enabling broadcasters and
network operators to deploy IP closer to the consumer and move
towards an all IP network
- The high channel density of the
SC2000 reduces hardware costs, saves space and increases
reliability
- The high-density of the SC2000
provides unrivalled cost-per-channel video distribution, reducing
capex costs
- IP reduces running costs through
the more efficient use of an operator’s network and through easier
and more cost-effective management and maintenance
- By enabling a seamless
transition towards an all IP network, deploying the SC2000 ensures
that an operator reduces costs from day one and continues to save.
The investment is protected by the future-proofed modular approach
of the StreamCore range of IP solutions and the integration of
StreamCore solutions with other Appear TV solutions
“The SC2000 offers the most
flexible and compact solution for professional video distribution
over IP. Given the industry’s move towards increasing deployment of
IP we expected a high demand for the SC2000, but we’ve been
overwhelmed by the response of the customers that we’ve previewed
the solution to, having already received orders from new and
existing customers,” says Carl Walter Holst, CEO, Appear TV.
“We will continue to launch StreamCore products to help customers
deploy IP to increase flexibility and reduce costs - key benefits
for broadcasters and network operators in today’s ultra competitive
environment,” concluded Holst.
SC2000 features include:
- The SC2000 is built around a
flexible chassis that can host different combinations of modules
allowing a bespoke configuration for every customer’s needs
- The product supports signal
reception, descrambling, scrambling and IP streaming and increases
flexibility by hosting multiple inputs such as ASI, QPSK and IP -
all in a 4RU footprint
- The received services can be
descrambled using DVB (common interface) or software-based CA
systems. The unit supports full analysis of PSI/SI and regenerates
all tables as required by the operator. To provide extra
flexibility, the SC2000 supports scrambling using the DVB
Simulcrypt protocol together with DVB or AES scrambling, enabling
operators to modernize without losing their investment in existing
network infrastructure.
The SC2000 integrates with the
previously launched Appear TV DC1000 MPEG-2 decoder, to offer
operators an end-to-end distribution solution. The DC1000 is also on
display at IBC and has been enhanced since launch through the
addition of A2 Stereo support, OSDM (on-screen display messaging)
system and ASI and QPSK inputs. The high-level feature set of the
DC1000, combined with its cost-effectiveness, has strengthened the
DC1000’s position in the professional video distribution market.
Visitors to the Appear TV stand (Hall 4, Stand 143) will be able to
see a live demonstration of the DC1000 MPEG-2 decoder working
alongside the SC2000 IP Streamer.
