All Digital, Dual Tuner SD-DVR
BOCA RATON, FL. -- Pace Micro Technology, a leading digital set-top
box provider specializing in the development of emerging
technologies, today announced its latest all-digital DVR product,
the Vegas TDC575 SD-DVR. This all digital, dual-tuner SD-DVR is a
perfect complement for MSOs who are looking for a low cost DVR
solution in an all digital network. It is a richly featured set-top
that includes advanced connectivity, DOCSIS/DSG, and a processor
powerful enough to support both current and future technology
requirements. Vegas supports CableLabs® OpenCable™ Application
Platform (OCAPTM) and has also been integrated with the latest
electronic program guide (EPG) and Video on Demand (VOD)
applications deployed in the market today. Its slim case design and
low cost make Vegas the best choice for large-scale DVR deployments. |

Pace Micro Technology Americas' President, Mike Pulli, commented,
"Pace is once again offering innovative technology to the cable
industry by introducing a unique solution that addresses both the SD
DVR and all-digital set-top market. Pace's low-cost, dual tuner
Vegas SD DVR product was designed with large-scale deployments in
mind so operators can quickly and easily deploy this set-top box to
consumers."
"The Vegas product is a compelling offering with robust connectivity
and the capability to grow from supporting existing networks to
future networks that include OCAP and DSG," added Vegas Product
Manager Mike Donahue. "Consumers are able to enjoy all of the
benefits a dual tuner DVR has to offer, such as watch and record and
VCR recording capabilities, while MSOs benefit from a low-cost DVR
solution for a large subscriber population."
"Consumer demand for DVRs has been a double-edged sword for the
cable industry, which has capitalized on monthly fees from the
advanced service but has also had to shoulder higher capital
expenditures to pay for the hardware," said Ian Olgeirson, senior
analyst for Kagan Research. "As a result, lower cost set-top boxes
are a paramount concern for the industry."
Pace is the leading second source cable set-top provider in the U.S.
With a wide range of products to support both North American cable
network types, Pace has built a family of products that incorporate
innovative, low-cost designs and give U.S. cable operators diversity

and continues to grow products in line with the most current
technical advances. Pace has set-top solutions that incorporate
