IPTV for Education: KyLinTV Leads the Way Adding 700+ Hours of Educational Programs

Other Topics: IPTV Video On Demand (VoD), Where 2.0 Conference

PRNewswire
December 21, 2005

Plainview, NY -- KyLinTV today announced the premier of more than 700 hours of new educational programming for students of all ages. The spotlight, called Geo and Why, is dedicated to science, nature and other educational programming for students of all ages and with varied interests.

GEO Explorer is a series that will profile topics such as the creation of the universe, molecular motion, child development, environmental protection, biological engineering and even robotics. Examples include "Simulation and Invention" "Advanced Bionics" "Indian Herbal Medicine" "Little Difference in the Brain" and "Chandigarh, A Model of City Planning." Other titles will discover interesting people and places from around the world, from urban centers in "Rebuilding Beirut" and "Brasilia the Miraculous" to wild habitats in "To Save Gorilla."

All children ask the adults in their life, Why? The Why of Geo and Why offers a series of educational titles for the younger students that will uncover answers to things that many children find curious. Why are fresh flowers colorful? Why is there such a loud sound when a balloon pops? How does a giraffe sleep? Can we weigh fire? How does an air bag in the car work? And why is the sky blue?

"The KyLinTV subscribers that I speak with are very enthusiastic about the kinds of varied programs that we continue to offer," said Jacob Sung, Director of Sales and Marketing for KyLinTV. "All of the programs that we offer are carefully selected, and we want to make sure that there is something for everyone in the family including dramas, films and entertainment, as well as interesting programs where there is something to learn."

The addition of educational programs and the Geo and Why spotlight follows the launch, in December 2005, of Sun TV as a part of the KyLinTV subscription service. Together Sun TV and the Geo and Why spotlight offer a range of interesting and informative programs for a Chinese-American audience. There is, indeed, something for everyone in the family from the youngest to the eldest member.
