VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA - Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX:VCM), a
leading provider of equipment supporting access to broadband
networks, will exhibit a range of gateway product solutions
featuring a live demonstration of its new Concierge Gateway at the
upcoming HITEC show 2010 that will be held in Orlando, Florida from
June 21-24. The Concierge IP to QAM Gateway is a high density, IP to
QAM converter compatible with satellite, cable and IPTV operators
that offers continuous, high performance operation for free-to-guest
(FTG) and VOD services. |

The Concierge is ideally
suited for hospitality facilities such as hotels, resorts,
hospitals, assisted living residences, and universities requiring a
cost effective solution for providing HD channels over a standard RF
coaxial distribution network. Using breakthrough technology,
Concierge can de-encapsulate up to 1 GbE of input, decrypt multiple
MPEG streams and encrypt each program stream with Pro:Idiom(R).
Leveraging Vecima's state-of-the-art RF modulation technology,
program streams are modulated onto 12 QAM channels at the output,
capable of delivering up to 48 HD programs in a single rack unit. As
hotel operators rapidly increase their HD deployment in guest rooms,
this solution allows system integrators to decrease capital and
operating expenses by reducing the cost per HD stream and eliminates
the need for set-top-boxes in guest rooms.
In addition to the Concierge Gateway, other key products will be
exhibited including the Terrace MDU Gateway. The 2009 BGR 5 diamond
award winner, Terrace is a QAM to analog multi-channel MDU gateway
designed to reclaim analog bandwidth all the way to the outer edge
of a service operator's network for multi-dwelling units or service
groups, offering up to 82 NTSC video channels.
About Vecima Networks
Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX:VCM) designs,
manufactures and sells products that enable broadband access to
cable, wireless and telephony networks. Vecima's hardware products
incorporate original embedded software to meet the complex
requirements of next-generation, high-speed digital networks.
Service providers use Vecima's solutions to deliver services to a
converging worldwide broadband market, including what are commonly
known as "triple play" (voice, video and data) and "quadruple play"
(voice, video, data and wireless) services. Vecima's solutions allow
service providers to rapidly and cost-effectively bridge the final
network segment that connects the system directly to end users,
commonly referred to as "the last mile," by overcoming the
bottleneck resulting from insufficient carrying capacity in legacy,
last mile infrastructures. Vecima's products are directed at two
principal markets: Converged Wired Solutions and Broadband Wireless.
The Company has also developed, and continues to focus on
developing, products to address emerging markets such as Voice over
Internet Protocol, fibre to the home and IP video. www.vecima.com
