IP-based service providers now able to deliver the full range of voice, data, and video offerings using FTTH last-mile solutions.

London, UK and Oslo, Norway: Appear TV, a global provider of next-generation head-ends for broadcast and IP television, will demonstrate how it is helping European telcos and broadband and IPTV service providers to move ahead of the competition in their video, voice and data services offerings.

Thomas Lind, Technical Director at Appear TV, explains, “IP and Telco TV service providers have traditionally only been able to offer a limited range of video, voice and data services. Our FTTH last-mile solutions create new business modules and marketing strategies. The introduction of DVB-T, DVB-C or analog RF services, for example, can change the business case for IPTV by enabling service providers to dramatically increase both the number of channels and services they offer.

“Our FTTH last-mile solutions make it possible for service providers using all optical networks to deliver all flavours of digital and analogue video alongside advanced voice and high speed data services. The result of this is that, in many parts of Europe, subscribers are turning to IPTV service providers and telcos not just for voice and broadband data services, but also to receive free DVB-T terrestrial channels, an analog channel package and premium TV services like sports, movies and PPV.

In addition to its FTTH last-mile solutions, Appear TV will be demonstrating the company’s SC2000 IPTV solution that is the system of choice for IPTV operators, combining reception descrambling, scrambling and IP output in a single chassis, All of Appear TV products come with comprehensive redundancy solutions.
