The most famous hula competition, The Merrie Monarch Festival, will be broadcasted for the first time live and On-Demand outside of the state of Hawaii to anywhere in the world direct to television sets through Hawaii IPTV LLC

Honolulu, HI -- Hawaii IPTV LLC has signed a contract with 4Miles LLC to broadcast the most celebrated and renowned hula competition Live and On Demand worldwide in 2009. This will be the first internet protocol television provider to have access to the 46 year old prestigious Hawaiian event, and the first time the Merrie Monarch Festival will ever be able to be viewed live outside of Hawaii. The addition of the Merrie Monarch Festival to Hawaii IPTV's new scheduling will move the company one step closer into being the world's main source for Hawaii culture and help build the foundation for becoming a global network for Hula.

"It's an honor to be able to have the Merrie Monarch Festival as a part of Hawaii IPTV. This event showcases Hawaii at its finest and is so rich in history and culture. I'm thrilled to be given the opportunity to share it with our customers around the world," stated Kimberly Dey, Vice President of Hawaii IPTV. Named after King David Kalakaua, the Merrie Monarch Festival celebrates the reintroduction of hula and traditional Hawaiian songs and chants that had previously been prohibited by early missionary settlers. Now owned by a domestic non-profit organization registered with the State of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, the annual presentation includes art exhibits, craft fairs, demonstrations, performances, a parade and a three-day hula competition that has received worldwide recognition for its historic and cultural significance. Since its conception, the Merrie Monarch Festival has always been committed to perpetuating the traditional culture of the Hawaiian people and showcasing the most elite dancers of Hula today. It is considered the world's premier forum for people of all ages to display their skill and knowledge of ancient and modern hula. "This is an event that our customers have looked forward to enjoying since we first launched our service. It is considered the super bowl of Hula and Hawaiian culture. When we talk about viewing the best TV from Hawaii our customers always mention the Merrie Monarch Festival," said Dey.

Hawaii IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) is a video technology company launched in 2007 by Chris and Kimberly
Dey. The Hawaii IPTV service allows subscribers to view Hawaii broadcasts on TV globally via a box that connects the TV to the internet.
