opportunities by proving interoperability with Exterity’s building
IPTV solution
London, UK -- Exterity, a specialist in network IPTV, announces that
its recently launched IPTV Ready Program has successfully carried
out testing with numerous digital signage and video equipment
companies. One such company is Remote Media with its signagelive
SaaS (Software as a Service) web-based Digital Signage Platform.
Exterity’s IPTV Ready Program allows these companies to prove
interoperability with IPTV, which opens up new revenue streams and
generates improved margins; vital in today’s challenging economic

IPTV is rapidly growing in
popularity and has become an essential requirement for new-builds
and renovations. As such, video equipment and digital signage
companies are quickly moving to gain knowledge in the area of IPTV.
Exterity meets this demand from a non-competitive position, and
provides independent advice based on vast expertise to help other
vendors integrate with IPTV solutions.
Digital signage and video equipment companies have the option to
include Exterity’s IPTV solution as part of their wider technology
offerings, which will help them attract new customers as well as
create an up-sell opportunity to existing customers, increasing
customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
Jason Cremins, CEO, Remote Media comments: “Exterity’s IPTV Ready
Program acts as a ‘rubber stamp,’ proving to our customers that we
have a verified solution that will give them a best of breed digital
signage system, which incorporates the flexibility of IPTV
seamlessly integrated with both signagelive display and new desktop
editions.”
Colin Farquhar, CEO of Exterity comments: “The IPTV Ready Program
provides the ideal opportunity for digital signage companies to move
into the new and rapidly expanding market of Building IPTV. As
leaders in this new market, we can channel our experience and share
Exterity’s expertise in the sector with other vendors, enabling them
to make the most of this new potential revenue stream.”
At this year’s ISE show in Amsterdam (3-5 February), both Exterity
and Remote Media will be exhibiting, giving visitors the opportunity
to see live demonstrations of the fully pre-tested and interoperable
digital signage/IPTV solution. In addition, Remote Media will be
launching the signagelive ‘desktop edition’, which allows TV to be
streamed to a smaller window on desktop PCs, removing the necessity
for full-screen only viewing. It also has an alert function so
companies can send targeted messages to users.
Exterity’s IPTV solutions enable
scalable and cost-effective delivery of TV and other multi-media
content across the Local Area Networks. Using IPTV digital signage,
companies no longer require TV cards in PCs to deliver live TV to
displays. In addition, coaxial TV cable is no longer necessary for
digital signage players so dual cabling is now a thing of the past,
saving both time and money.
