Powerful Zodiac Tru2way Apps Being Demonstrated Across The Cable
Show and CableNET®
Valley Stream, NY -- Zodiac Interactive, a multiple Emmy-nominated
and Emmy award-winning developer of software for interactive
television, today announced its participation at The Cable Show '08,
the cable industry's premier convention, May 18-20 in New Orleans.
In CableNET® 2008, which is co-sponsored by CableLabs® and the NCTA
(National Cable Telecommunications Association), Zodiac will display
its tru2wayTM framework, PowerUp for tru2way, which enables TV
widgets (called Zidgets), such as local restaurant search,
click-to-call, multi-player games, photosharing, weather, traffic,
sports scores, and local news, etc. - all without disrupting the TV
viewing experience. These demonstrations can also be found across
The Cable Show's exhibit floor in Zodiac's partner booths, including
Advanced Digital Broadcast (booth #841), who will demonstrate
multiple tru2way platforms, Alticast (booth # 3505), Motorola (booth
#1405) and Thomson (booth #941). |

many leading tru2way companies have recognized Zodiac applications
in tru2way," said Michael Rivkin, Zodiac's CEO. "Zodiac espouses the
central tenant of tru2way, which allows for portability across
multiple devices and stacks. We have been able to easily make our
applications available to multiple set-top boxes and stack vendors,
and have proven the platform's basic principle to build once and
easily deploy across multiple platforms."
Additionally, in suite #ES1, Zodiac will demonstrate its PowerRamp
(On Ramp to OCAP) platform and middleware solution. A Java-based
JSR242 compliant platform, PowerRamp is a migration path to tru2way
technology, giving operators with millions of deployed legacy
set-tops a path to tru2way-like features. With PowerRamp, operators
do not have to replace their existing set-top boxes and can still
run advanced TV 2.0 applications, user interfaces and guides.

operators just how powerful tru2way technology can be, to them and

wait for a complete tru2way rollout. Also, instead of having to
support both JAVA and legacy applications, as part of a tru2way
rollout, with PowerRamp, operators can build an application once in
JAVA and easily migrate it to tru2way. "
