With More Than 54,000 Fiber Connected Homes, CDE Lightband
Implements Triad to Bill and Provision FTTH Services
Atlanta, GA -- Enhanced Telecommunications' (d/b/a) ETI Software
Solutions, Inc., (ETI) (www.etisoftware.com) today announced CDE
Lightband has successfully deployed ETI's Triad OSS/BSS software
suite to fully support its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) services being
delivered throughout Clarksville, TN. This product enables CDE to
sell, manage and automatically activate IPTV and ultra high-speed
internet services to the citizens of Clarksville over the city's
extensive FTTH network passing approximately 54,000 homes with some
900 miles of fiber. |

With one of the largest fiber-to-the home implementations in the
country, CDE's strategy was to deploy a solution which was
integrated seamlessly with its existing utility system to generate a
single bill, combining utility, IPTV (pay-per-view and
video-on-demand) and broadband usage for each customer. This
single-bill approach is not only a customer convenience, but will
save CDE thousands in bill production, postage and lock-box
processing fees.
"We're extremely satisfied with ETI's solution and the expertise
they've brought to our deployment," said Stephen Hopkins, Vice
President of Telecommunications, CDE Lightband. "ETI made full
billing and service activation of our FTTH and IPTV platforms a
reality in short order. Now because of Triad, we're positioned to
rapidly roll-out services and can now deliver a single, integrated
bill to each and every of our customers right from our electric
utility billing system."
With Triad, CDE produces a single, neatly itemized monthly bill for
each subscriber, detailing electric usage, IPTV and high speed data
charges. Each bill also contains non-recurring charges, such as
video-on-demand and pay-per view usage. Additionally, Triad provides
CDE with comprehensive inventory asset management and tracking for
all set-top boxes and FTTH gateways. In the near future, Triad will
also fully support CDE's telephone services offering, completing the
triple-play offering, and enabling quad-play billing.
By fully automating the provisioning process and eliminating
multiple data entry points Triad reduces operating expenses and
significantly accelerates ROI. Since Triad eliminates multiple data
entry points, service errors and delays associated with manual
"swivel chair" provisioning processes are eliminated. It also
ensures subscribers only receive the services for which they are
paying, and instantaneously receive service changes; reducing the
likelihood of negative customer experiences, and in so doing,
reduces customer churn.
"This was one of our largest and more complex installations," said
Peter Pifer, Chief Executive Officer, ETI Software. "CDE will
provide the residents of Clarksville with the most progressive
services and technology available. Deployments like Lightwave are
making current and future telecommunication services more affordable
and accessible to the entire community - and we at ETI truly value
our customers like CDE, delivering these services over FTTH
throughout rural America."
