Beijing, P.R.China -- Beijing Digital Transvideo Technology Co, Ltd,
the leading provider of digital video core technology and IPTV
solutions, announced the release of i-Box/2000-C, a new generation
digital IPTV Set-Top-Box (STB) based on public Internet and private
network. Relying on Transvideo’s core technology and adopting the
optimized H.264CODEC algorithm, i-Box/2000-C could deliver FULL D1
and DVD quality pictures under the bit rates ranging from
700Kbps~1.2MKbps. With a decent appearance, various applications
like live broadcast, time shift, VOD and other interactive
value-added services can all be simultaneously supported by i-Box/2000-C. |

i-Box/2000-C has applied CC1100 Media
Processor, a new fully programmable multi-core DSP solution-on-chip
(SoC) created by C2 Microsystems Inc. CC1100 Media Processor can
support multiple formats of video decoding and encoding, with a RISC
processor based on Linux, CC1100 Media Processor can support
software migration and development. Taken advantage of the powerful
processing performance of CC1100 Media Processor and the vast
technical support offered by C2 Microsystems Inc, the time which was
required to develop i-Box/2000-C has been largely reduced, moreover,
i-Box/2000-C has been greatly improved in terms of performance,
function and quality, realizing the functions like multi-service,
high performance, high reliability and interactive experience which
are demanded by IPTV operators. Instead of applying CPU + DSP
structure, a previous solution used by Transvideo, i-Box/2000-C has
used single-chip STB solution, which makes the i-Box/2000-C’s
processing performance be greatly improved, e.g., the H.264 decoding
capability can be increased to 2Mbps bit rates, the high performance
not only makes it possible to present subscribers a better quality
picture, but also enrich the function of hardware, which is helpful
to make many other interactive applications come true in future,
meanwhile, the solution can help to increase the i-Box/2000-C’s
reliability and stability, accordingly reduce the maintenance cost
for IPTV operators.
In addition to Transvideo’s optimized H.246, a wide variety of
CODEC, such as standard H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, MPEG-4 ASP, MPEG-2, are
all supported by i-Box/2000-C. Furthermore, i-Box/2000-C has
maintained the merit possessed by Transvideo’s previous products,
being able to work under the networked environment like Cable Modem,
ADSL, Ethernet and WLAN, and various video/audio input and output
interfaces. Besides the wire connections, i-Box/2000-C is suitable
for wireless environment, having the built-out separate WiFi of i-Box/2000-C
connected with family wireless modem, it will be available for
subscribers to enjoy TV programs at their living room, dining room,
bedroom, or any other place they prefer to in their house without
the need to layout any wire.
i-Box/2000-C has introduced OSD (On-screen
display) technology. The use of OSD multilayer video display
technology makes the EPG (Electronic Program Guide) to be more
three-dimensional and attractive. As subscribers watch the TV
program, they can choose to view or change the channel via
semitransparent EPG, therefore greatly enhancing subscribers’ TV
experience. Moreover, with the combination of OSD application with
IPTV front system platform, making i-Box/2000-C to realize some
interactive service, such as: on-line voting, interactive TV
commercial. It is sure that the use of i-Box/2000-C would give IPTV
subscribers with an extremely fresh visual experience.
“With its IPTV end-to-end solution and multi-applications,
Transvideo has achieved considerable success in the field of IPTV
sector at the international market. The launch of i-Box/2000-C would
bring more business opportunities for IPTV operators, accordingly,
largely enhance TV experience for subscribers.” Wang Yunchuan, CEO
of Transvideo, said “As a provider of IPTV technology and solution,
Transvideo will be pleased to continue to develop new products, and
to be more active and open-minded to face the global booming IPTV
market. i-Box/2000-C, the new generation STB developed by Transvideo,
features with more powerful function, smaller stature and more
stable and applicable system, and we are looking forward to
co-operating with more operators who are willing to explore their
IPTV business.”
“i-Box2000-C is a fruitage co-created by engineers from Transvideo
and C2 Microsystems Inc. I am pleased to witness i-Box2000-C
launching into market. Transvideo, a world leading provider of
end-to-end IPTV solutions, has showed its strength in the field of
IPTV technology with its flexible System Architect, fast encoding
algorithms, high efficient network transmission solutions, high
speed channel-changing technology and other achievement which are
worked out by its elite team of engineers. I have great confidence
that Transvideo will achieve success both at home and abroad with
its IPTV system.” Dr. Liu Jinxiang, CEO of C2 Microsystems Inc,
said, “IPTV is the best example of the combination of
telecommunication technology and video technology, how to make use
of the network environment to present subscribers with a fresh TV
experience based on Internet is largely depended on the structure of
chip and the use of end device, so the booming IPTV market has
offered both huge business potential and big challenge for DSP SoC
producer, making the ASIC SoC which is based on traditional
structure to serve for the IPTV application would present an
unprecedented challenge for the SoC producer. C2 Microsystems Inc
would continue its cooperation with Transvideo to make sure to give
subscribers more exciting IPTV experience and IPTV application
through Transvideo’s IPTV platform. ”
