Reykjavik, Iceland -- Industria, a leading IPTV solutions provider,
today announced it will be offering its award-winning IPTV platform
as a subscription-based service, named Zignal Cloud.
Built on the Zignal digital entertainment delivery platform, Zignal
Cloud lowers the total cost of ownership for service providers,
provides predictability of costs, reduces technology risks and
decreases time to market. |

The Zignal Cloud is
accessible through a host of APIs where service providers are able
to fully customize and integrate Zignal Cloud with their own
solutions and TV offerings. Local media assets are managed within
the back office environment of the Zignal Cloud, including both IP
video streams and On-Demand video assets.
Taking the Market to Next Level
"Service providers of any size can sign-up on the Zignal Cloud and
have a full carrier grade IPTV Service Delivery Platform
up-and-running now for zero investment," says Gudjon Mar Gudjonsson,
Industria's CEO. "This means we are greatly reducing the barriers to
entry for new market entrants and easing the transition of existing
operators. The Zignal Cloud initiative is based on our experience
from the IPTV market, where we have learned that aggressive service
providers are looking more and more towards outsourcing parts of
their services infrastructure."
The Zignal Cloud offering from Industria simplifies the process for
service providers of offering commercial TV over broadband
offerings. Until now the industry has been characterized with
cumbersome and complex processes in terms of getting up and running
in offering carrier grade IPTV services. Zignal Cloud removes these
barriers by offering a highly scalable infrastructure in a hosted
environment.
Building on a Reputation of Innovation
Last year Industria was recognizes in a market research study done
for CNBC Business Magazine as one of 50 most innovative company in
Europe and described by the panel of judges as being "potentially
one of the biggest contributors to a European future of digital
convergence and IPTV". Industria continues to live up to this
recognition and is now offering its vast experience and pioneering
technology platform to the marketplace without any effort in
installation of complex software solutions with no upfront cost for
the service provider.
The Zignal Cloud is the server infrastructure for TV set-top boxes,
PC, media centers and mobile devices. The consumer can experience
rich media service using his Zignal running device, as TV set-top
boxes or their media enabled mobile handsets. Services include Video
on Demand, Pause live TV and Personal video Recording, to name a
few.
"The Zignal Cloud offering includes pre-integrated services and
applications which service providers can choose from to add to their
operational environment," says Thorsteinn Yngvi Gudmundsson, VP
Product Development at Industria. "This pay-as-you-grow model
enables service providers to focus their resources on the marketing
side to increase pick-up rates."
Currently Zignal Cloud is available by invitation only, but service
providers can apply to be included in the program from the Industria
website. Zignal Cloud will be commercially available in the third
quarter of 2008.
