Pioneering IPTV system wins fourth industry award since launch in
March 2007
Southampton, UK -– The International Engineering Consortium (IEC)
today presented TANDBERG Television, part of the Ericsson Group,
with an InfoVision Award during a ceremony at the Broadband World
Forum (BBWF) Europe 2007 in Berlin. TANDBERG Television’s iPlex
UltraCompression HD and SD IPTV head-end solution was chosen by a
prestigious group of judges and won against broad telco competition
in the ‘Access Networks Technologies and Services’ category. The
TANDBERG iPlex UltraCompression IPTV head-end is enabling IPTV
business models for operators around the world. It is a flexible HD
and SD video processing platform which offers the industry’s most
complete IPTV solution, combining the broadest choice of density and
enhanced features with the industry’s leading picture quality

Since its launch in March this year,
the iPlex has won four major industry awards. It was given ‘Best
IPTV Head-end & Video Processing Technology’ at the IPTV World Forum
in London; an IEC InfoVision Award at BBWF in Asia; and a CSI
Product of the Year Award at IBC for ‘Best Digital Video Processing
Technology’. Today’s InfoVision Award is further proof of the step
change in television business models that the iPlex delivers to
telcos.

The iPlex is a flexible video processing platform, rather than just
