WNC to bundle IntAct Software stack with a range of IPTV STBs as part of an offering to IPTV operators

Cambridge, UK & Hsinchu, Taiwan -- IntAct Software Ltd ("IntAct"), an Amino Technologies plc company ("Amino"; stock code: AMO), announces today that it has signed a licensing agreement with Wistron NeWeb Corp. ("WNC"), the subsidiary of Wistron group, which will allow WNC to bundle the IntAct IPTV solution across a range of Set-Top Boxes (STBs) from the mentioned company. These STB products will range from standard definition MPEG-2/4/H.264 to high definition DVB Hybrid and PVRs.

For an undisclosed sum, WNC has the right to supply the latest advanced IPTV software technology to customers across the Asia-Pacific region and tier-1 telcos in European Union and North America markets. According to Mike Arden, Principal Analyst at ABI Research, Asia Pacific alone is poised to be the biggest market with an explosion of IPTV services over the next few years and he also foresees that subscribers will rise from 2 million in 2005 to over 22 million by 2011.

Haydn Hsieh, CEO & President of WNC, commented, "Given the market forecasts and potential for IPTV, we want to enter the IPTV market quickly and in a big way. We need to find a software partner to give us the time-to-market advantage we need and IntAct is our best option" He continued, "By licensing the IntAct IPTV solution, we can provide our customers with a proven solution that is already pre-integrated with most of the popular Middleware, Conditional Access and VOD servers on the market, reducing vastly the production time to revenues - a critical consideration in a highly competitive market".

"The significance of this relationship is that operators can now buy STBs, fully integrated with software, directly from the factory", explained Bob Giddy, Amino's CEO. "In the past OEMs bought 'naked STB hardware' from the factory, added their software onto it, then sold it to the operator, which added time as well as middlemen and extra cost. The key difference is that WNC can now ship STBs loaded with fully pre-integrated IntAct solution directly from the end of the assembly line to the operator".
